Welcome

     Greeting in that name that is above every name, the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is my pleasure to welcome you into this branch of Zion as you begin, continue, or renew your walk with Christ. The Second Mount Zion Baptist Church is privileged to assist you as you grow stronger in your worship, warmer in your fellowship, and deeper in your faith. So it is with great joy that I welcome you into our family. 

     Second Mount Zion Baptist Church is on a mission to spread the word of God to every lost soul within the Delaware Valley. We are answering the call for comprehensive ministry; therefore, we are restructuring our ministry to make it more effective. Our congregation contains persons from every strata of life.  You will definitely find a lifelong friend, a role model, a shepherd, and, most importantly, a Lord and Savior over your life.

     At Second Mount Zion Baptist Church, we embrace the fundamental doctrines of Christianity and apply them as living principles.  We believe in the authority of the scripture, that there is only God, and that He expresses himself in three distinct persons--God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  We believe that salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone.  After accepting Him as personal Savior, one must be baptized in water by immersion.  We believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell.  In Church Orientation class, you will learn about these and other great doctrines of the Church.

     Second Mount Zion Baptist Church is a spirit-filled and family-oriented church where genuine and authentic praise occurs naturally. We believe that we, as Christians, should love one another just as Christ loves us all.  Therefore, as we walk together in the Spirit of the Living God, I encourage you to get to know the other members of your new large Christian family--everyone from the young in age to the young at heart, the new members and the old, and especially the pastor. I challenge you to fulfill the purpose God has for your life and to become active in one or more of the 28 ministries at Second Mount Zion.  Join us as we put our faith in action and do the work of evangelists.  Please feel free to call me if you need assistance, support, or directions.  Additionally, feel free to contact the deacons, trustees, or other ministry leaders if you need anything.  They are willing and glad to assist you.

     Once again, please know that you are welcomed.  Remember that the only way your membership here at Second Mount Zion will be truly meaningful is if you become involved in ministry, grow in your knowledge of the word of God, and move towards discipleship.  I challenge you to dive into ministry and allow yourself to be used as a vital force for change.  There is much to be done.  God is expecting us to act as his stewards and, as such, we must conduct ourselves in a Christ-like manner at all times, remembering that we are accountable to Jesus Christ in the end.
